Owen van Dijk (1981) is one of the leading creative developers in the Netherlands. With a background in AI and Computer Science, he combines the nitty-gritty technical stuff with the pixel-pushing graphical details with a pragmatic and gettings-things-done mentality. He was Technical Director at USSR where he lead a group of 6 that won awards such as a bronze Cyber Lion and 2 FWA's.

With his own company he worked directly with international clients such as Sony Playstation on high-profile marketing campaigns. Over the years his work has won or was nominated for a Webby, Gold Epica Award, Esprix nominee and the dutch Spin Awards.

Owen is often invited to speak on national and international industry events on his work. He spoke at Adobe MAX, Spark Europe, Flashtival and several Adobe and Macromedia product launch events. He sat on Macromedia's Advisory board in 2004-2006, a small international group of leading developers and worked on open-source projects such as ARP and AS3FlickrLib. Owen easily switches from Flash to Flex combining his knowledge of the Flash platform gained over the years.

In addition, Owen van Dijk, founded the Adobe User Group (AUG), a highly successful group aimed at creative professionals working with Adobe software. Starting from scratch in 2004 as the Macromedia User Group, he developed the group from a one-man show to the current management group of 7 people. Responsible for strategy, business development and eventproducer, the AUG has attracted over 1500 members and more than 20 sponsors making it one of Adobe's most visible and biggest user groups. In the past two years he has produced 11 events with both national as international speakers and over 2000 attendees.

In his spare time Owen enjoys a good wine, hunts for rare grooves on vinyl and occasionally hits the water on his kiteboard.
