The digital age is about collaboration, communication and community, three words that epitomise my philosophy. I am a researcher, thought leader and visionary who is passionate about the potential for new technologies to transform business, government and society. Now Director of the UKs longest established eDemocracy think-tank, I have a successful track record in commercial innovation, community empowerment and government policy relating to ICT.
My practical approach sees me directly informing practice around parliament, central and local government in a number of countries but equally at home with technology start-ups and NGOs.
A New Zealander currently based in the UK, I retain a global focus in the fields of eGovernment and I am particularly interested in promoting effective participation in the digital society.
I am a past Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Government's Digital Strategy Advisory Group and advisor to local government and the tertiary education sector.
I am currently an advisor to the National Assembly for Wales and a member of the Department for Communities and Local Government eParticipation advisory group and the New Zealand Government's eParticipation community of practice.
e-democracy, ICT policy and strategy, community informatics, civil society, regional development, technology innovation, research and evaluation, writing and communication.
