Nestor is the Worldwide Director of Community and Online Support at Microsoft Corp, a leadership position responsible for Community, Social Media & influencers (MVP) strategy.
He has served since 2003 in the Community team leading the operation in Japan, Latin America & North America. Currently he is responsible for leading the WW community strategy and Voice of the Customer and his scopes includes Social Media, online/offline community strategy, influencer management, communication, planning, management and business development.
Nestor started his career as a SW developer in 1989 and subsequently held a number of sales & marketing roles, including Product Mgr at IBM, Latam Business Development Mgr at Siemens Nixdorf and account manager at Wang prior to join Microsoft. During that time, he gained experience in international business, customer service, people and program management.
Nestor joined Microsoft in 1997 as an Account Mgr. He later was Senior Account Mgr for Financial Svcs, Strategic Partner Mgr and Sales Mgr, when he was selected to oversee the Developer Support strategy for Latin America at the Global Technical Support in USA. He was appointed to the additional post of online community program manager in 2003 and held both positions until was named Regional Manager for Latam in 2004. In 2005 his position was expanded to Field Manager for US, In 2008 was appointed as a Regional Mgr for Americas and Japan where he served until his most recent promotion.
A native of Venezuela, Nestor holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the Politechnical Institute, a master's degree in Business Administration from Universidad Metropolitana, a Marketing postgraduate degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Management and leadership program at Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia. He also served as a Consultant for the Intl Dev Bank in Haiti and Panama in 1995.

Nestor is the Worldwide Strategy Director at Community & Online Support, a leadership position he assumed in Aug 2008. He is responsible for leading the worldwide influencer’s strategy (MVP), operations, planning, management and development; including online/offline community strategy, influencer relationship, customer communication and finance (budget & planning) execution.
As a community & Online support director, Nestor is responsible for the identification and selection of the next generation of community influencers, define & implement a scalable customer service model based on social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc), gather voice of the customer in social media space and channel customer insights into product development teams, customer support, etc.
Today nestor is also co-leading the @Microsofthelps consumer support service in Twitter and consumer listening for Voice of the Customer framework.
