Non Executive Director at Nominet UK
United Kingdom
Working alongside a huge range of stakeholders in the international domain name industry over the last six years, offers me an opportunity for perspective in comparing .uk with other ccTLDs as well as first-hand experience of the effects of Nominet policies on its end-users. This unique background of direct contact with thousands of .uk end-users enables me to capture a broad range of stakeholders’ needs and requirements.
I am currently a Non Executive Director and an elected member of Nominet’s PAB. Besides my Nominet roles I have business development responsibility for Sedo UK, (part of Affilinet/United Internet Group) and business services consultancy for the Pilotlight Charity. I speak fluent German, conversational French and Italian and basic Spanish.
I have worked in the online industry for over six years at an international Internet organization and successfully launched a UK office for Sedo in November 2007. My unique grounding in e-commerce, sales, mediation, brokerage and business development complemented by my experience in Internet marketing and advertising, enables me to fully appreciate the diverse needs of those involved in the UK namespace and the implications and value of both an online brand and its management.
In my current role at Sedo, I handle a large portfolio of international B2B/B2C clients and I source and develop partnerships with business agencies. Sourcing and leading a core team at Sedo UK, I identify business needs and strategies. Under my leadership, we have successfully brought new products to very competitive markets, increased market share, launched a presence in new markets and negotiated a number of strategic partnerships to strengthen Sedo's brand and reach within Europe and Asia.
