SingShot Media was a venture funded startup that created an online social network for creative self-expression using Karaoke. The site was launched in June 2006 and in July Time Magazine selected SingShot as one of the 5 coolest websites in the “Staying Connected” category of their “50 coolest websites of 2006” (http://www.time.com/time/2006/50coolest/). The service allowed users to create high quality karaoke recordings using only microphone or webcam; create contests, and embed recordings on social networks like MySpace & Facebook. It grew to become a popular Karaoke site worldwide and was acquired by Electronic Arts in February 2007.
