Python/Perl/JS Developer & Linux Admin
Austin, Texas Area
I'm pragmatic.
Borrowing a phrase from my time in the US Navy I've always been the "can do" guy. *nix, win32, Novell system administration, Python/Perl/PHP/Java/VB/iPhone/Javascript development, HTML/CSS, my GimpFu is only half bad, tech support(blek), end-user training, soldering electronics, climbing utility poles, accounting, copy writing, expert testimony. Whatever needed to get done, I learned how and then did it.
I really hate the "Objective" section on resumes because, honestly, my desire is to make things go and that sounds dumb. But I'm simple and it's true. I don't want to be a Torvalds, Brin, or Allen. I'm not the Prima Dona, I'm one of the chorus that provides the foundation for the Dona to Prima. Give me a mess of a system/systems/company or the bare rack of a server room and some business requirements and I'll make it happen.
When everyone forgets I work there cause all of it just works, that is the shit.
