I am interested in computational and cognitive neurosciences.
My background is in computer science and its application to biology.
(Educational Institution; Higher Education industry)
September 2004 — Present (4 years 11 months)
I work with Prof. Pavel Pevzner in bioinformatics, and more specifically in mass spectrometry based proteomics. We develop algorithms and software tools for analyzing mass spectra to identify peptides and proteins with appropriate statistical controls. I am particularly interested in using this data for improving genome annotations in bacteria, and identifying proteolytic events and post-translational modifications. In the past, I have been involved with some other projects related to microarray data analysis (with Prof. Andrew McCulloch), protein-protein interaction networks (with Prof. Vineet Bafna) and genome scale metabolic networks (with Prof. Bernhard Palsson).
