Ron Nirenberg's Summary
Ron is the Associate General Manager of Trinity University’s noncommercial KRTU-FM, where he leads a public media operation that serves both a community-focused higher education mission and a burgeoning arts audience in South Texas. Under Ron’s leadership, the station has recently unveiled an unprecedented, year-long collaboration of over 20 area nonprofits including the SACVB, Public Library Foundation, and KLRN-TV – while also launching the station’s first integrated marketing campaign.
Prior to joining KRTU, Ron worked for the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, developing and directing award-winning civic engagement programs in cities across the United States, including San Antonio. He has also worked in communication research and television production for the Intercultural Development Research Association and the City of San Antonio. An experienced entrepreneur, Ron is the founder and operator of Nirenberg Fitness Training, LLC and co-founder of ColectivaMente Consulting, LLC, a market research group. He also serves on several nonprofit boards and committees, including involvement in the city’s strategic planning initiative SA2020. He holds a B.A. from Trinity University and a M.A. from the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ron's interest is in community development, specifically in the areas of civic participation and leadership, and he has a demonstrated commitment to working in and with a variety of organizations and sectors to achieve strategic goals.
