Wawrzyniec "LarryN" Niewodniczański is the great fan of the Unix and the Open Source world but have his feet firmly on the ground. He is rather interested in a desktop (or rather access point with growing market of subnotebooks, smarter phones etc.) then a server aspect of IT problems. He has strong background in Linux (since 1999), but doesn't deprecate contacts with any other OS (even Windows!). He would like to improve computer experience of "average users", especial in the academic world (after all he has PhD in Quantum Chemistry and MSc in Molecular Engineering).
On the other hand, after reading introduction to "GRID2..." by Foster and Kesselman, he has become a fan of the GRID idea and see only "big clouds" on a blue sky. Sound as a contradiction? Not at all! The border between your desktop and the internet become fuzzy and its meter of time when you stop to recognize where you submitted your job (OK, the last sentence is a big more fiction than science).
BTW. His Linux counter number is #177124.
