    (Privately Held; Plastics industry)

    September 2004December 2008 (4 years 4 months)

I was working as R&D engineer when I started with the basic network administration of our company. We worked in a terminal server environment with 2 servers and ± 25 clients. We had to change our infrastructure as we were (and still are) a growing company, had problems with the restrictions of our terminal server environment and started with other sites/plants in Slovakia and UK.

2006 was a year full of challenges. I started the migration process to a new infrastructure where I had to handle different aspects. We changed from our old custom made “ERP” system to SAP R/3 (running on SQL) that had to be available in the different plants. In a second stage we moved to our brand new offices where we had to install a new (VoIP ready) telephone exchange with ACD (Automatic Call Distribution). In the same time we invested in a Time registration and Access Control system.

In the past two years we invested in Business related software applications. We extended our SAP application with BI, installed Ultimo maintenance software for management of production machines and buildings (running on SQL), gave our different sales representatives over Europe access by SSL VPN and foresee them with a mobile office (BlackBerry included) to improve our customer satisfaction.

The installation of a complete network monitoring tool (running on SQLite) including fixed assets, helpdesk, reporting tool,.. is a big success. Reporting to the CFO and CEO became a piece of cake. All our assets (servers, desktops, printers, mobiles are registered and monitored. It also improved the End-users satisfaction and reduced downtime.

I also spent time on some smaller projects, like shopfloor and distribution automation, green IT, End-user training, etc.
