Interest of the month: productivity and customer care, learning from real life how to manage a business Did you ever make the experience of restructuring home? I chose different suppliers. I even found an architect, but he was friend of the restructuring company. First lesson: indipendent consultant are better Biggest problem: time planning respect This is about prj mgmt, but I asked myself the cause of the time shifting and my answer was: productivity and customer care. Productivity means that you make what you have to make in less time and with less resources. Customer care means that you act raising the expectation of your client without saving your means. My suppliers didn’t! they all had to repeat twice their activity until I decided there was a good quality level and a sufficient customer satisfaction. At the end, I spent the same money but they all spent much more, reducing their profits! The lesson is: productivity and customer care raise your profit margins.
