Blog editor for ki work and technology writer
Illes Balears, Spain
Journalist, author and writer with many years experience. Formerly on the business desk of The Sunday Times and later technology editor of The Scotsman. Set up the web content specialist penpusher.com.
Since October 2008 I have been proud to be the blog editor for ki work which to me is one of the most exciting start-ups I've seen. I really believe the way ki work platform can replace the old corporate structure. Anybody who exercises their skills online can work locally and collaborate globally.
My aim is to continue earning a living in Ibiza where work is scarce. My first book "The Guardian Guide to Working Abroad" was published in February 2008. I'm a regular specialist technology columnist for The Scotsman, Executive PA and the Official Windows Vista magazine. I also contribute occasional articles articles to a number of websites, magazines and newspapers including The Independent, Scotland on Sunday and Scottish Business Insider.
That's the conspicuous side of my work. Behind the scenes I also write blog articles, newsletters, search engine optimised copy, press releases mainly for technology companies and white papers. Of course my name doesn't appear on any of this because it's intended to make other people look better.
I am always on the look out for new work opportunities. Just ask me. If I can't do it for you myself I have an extensive network of contacts built up over the years and I could probably recommend somebody.
I'm expert at writing about technology for non-specialist business and consumer audiences. My other key area of expertise is text-based web content including writing copy specifically for search engine optimisation.
Have a look at the links to my blogs and websites elsewhere on this profile to see what I can do.
