I started at Valcom in Madison, Wisconsin as my first job working in the computer industry. Valcom trained me to be a computer technician and I worked the bench for a few months fixing laptops and computers and eventually helped to service some of valcom's clients in desktop support roles at various sites, such as Rayovac, CUNA, Thompson Plumb and Alliant Energy. I met a lot of great people in my short time with Valcom and learned a lot about computer and network troubleshooting that helped to establish a good foundation of technical skills as my career later grew in the computer industry.
After two years of service to Valcom I left Wisconsin to return to the East Coast to work for GE Corporate in Stamford CT.
