I am a freelance percussionist with extensive experience in a wide range of musical genres. I have recently focussed on working in musical theatre, performing in the Toronto productions of We Will Rock You, Lord of the Rings, Hairspray, and the Lion King (substitute). I also have a background in contemporary classical chamber music, having performed regularly with Vancouver New Music, New Music Concerts (Toronto), the Esprit Orchestra, and many others.
I have written music for and toured with theatre and musical groups across Canada, the United States, and Asia.
As a percussionist, I also have experience with and enjoy playing a diverse range of musics from various cultures around the world - from West Africa to Cuba to Brazil.
Musical theatre, contemporary classical chamber music, classical orchestral music, West African (Ghanaian) music, Cuban music, Brazilian music.
I also specialize in keyboard percussion, having released two albums of classical and latin-american marimba arrangements with fellow marimbist Graham Hargrove.

As a performer with the Drum Cafe, I worked as a performance team member for a number of years, developing skills as both a musician and as a teambuilder.
A natural progression led me to facilitate and lead Drum Cafe performances for some of Canada's largest companies, an experience that gave me insight into public speaking, teambuilding, motivation, and group dynamics.
Behind the scenes, I also administered logistics, working closely with members of sales, performance, and clients to ensure that events were well-organized, equipment and personnel deployed efficiently and effectively. This position taught me the most about developing and maintaining relationships with clients, learning the importance of discovering exactly what clients wanted from the experience, and working to deliver for them an experience that exceeded their expectations. I also developed highly-tuned organizational skills that were essential to me in ensuring our overall success.

Timpanist and percussionist for the Mirvish production of Lord of the Rings. Although a short-lived effort, the production was an interesting experience because as part of a core group of musicians, I was involved in helping workshop the music creation, and was able to help develop and provide feedback as to the percussion parts.

Principal percussionist for the Mirvish production of Hairspray, the Tony-award winning Broadway hit. Hairspray was a great production to work on, allowing me to work alongside some of Toronto's finest jazz, and session musicians. My part included timpani, congas, vibraphone, chimes, bells, and small hand percussion.
