Right now I work for Spiceworks, an exciting new startup in Austin, TX, that makes a free network management application. There's no catch because it's ad-supported. Go try it out! It has next to zero configuration and is up and running in under five minutes. You have nothing to lose!
My heart is in startups. In fact, my alma mater, Olin College, is itself a start-up: I'm in its first graduating class. I love to do the odd jobs that a small group has to share responsibility for, from typesetting documents to developing websites to meeting with outside contacts.
I enjoy usability, human factors, DSP, computer architecture, and mathematics. My User-Oriented Collaborative Design and Human Factors Interface Design courses helped me appreciate the usefulness of involving users directly in the design process.
I have a special interest in audio signal processing, and have written electronic music and developed multiple software audio effects. My company, SoHa Sound Design, has a software synthesizer product on the market.
My goal is to gain experience in the workforce in areas that require both technical and user-oriented thinking.

Designed and brought to market Sonata(tm), a VST software synthesizer for use in programs such as Cubase.
Used DSP, UI, mathematics, and computer science background to develop real-time algorithms for reverb, filters, and effects along with the graphical user interface.
Looking forward, I hope develop more synthesis algorithms that could potentially lead to new products. I have also looked into the marketing required to keep our existing product alive.

I worked with the center on web design in a part time summer job. I redesigned their site for easier maintenance, accessibility, and browser compatibility. I also provided computer help and developed web applications for professors and others who worked in the adjoining materials science and nanoscale research labs.
