Nela is a freelance journalist and photographer living in Florence, Italy, currently preparing her final thesis project in The Role of Journalism Professionals in the Era of Participatory Online Cultures.
Her past work experiences include the coverage of the Montenegrin independence referendum for Transitions Online (an online publication covering the development of 29 former communist countries worldwide), freelance corresponding for Prestup Magazine from Belgrade, and other one time or occasonal collaborations including the front page photograph for the Montenegrin Daily Vijesti.
Nela is fluent in Serbian, English, Italian and Spanish, while she understands written text and has basic conversation skills in Bulgarian and French.
