VP of Logistics at Palm
San Francisco Bay Area
My previous experience led me through the whole Telecom value chain. I started as a buyer of components in a factory and gained deep knowledge of many of the key components in our Industry. Next I managed organizations responsible for planning and securing components in a large factory (handset) network and thus gained insight into the handset manufacturing process. During that time, we were also responsible for delivering handsets to customers (Operators) all over the world and was able to gain valuable knowledge of the supply chain to Operators. Finally, I took a VP of Supply Chain position with an Operator in order to follow the supply chain right up to the retail level understanding the complexity of selling handsets directly to end users.
After my Telecom experience, I was fortunate enough to be able to join Microsoft on the Hardware side (Xbox, Zune). What is exciting about this current opportunity is that I am gaining tremendous knowledge and experience in both a great company and a whole new Industry area. Here I am working to help re-engineer the supply chain and set up best-in-class procurement practices.
My goal has always been and will continue to always be three-part.
1. In everything that I do, I want to leave a legacy of excellence which brings value to the company.
2. In whatever little way or major way I can, I want to make a difference in the lives of people in my sphere of influence. This happens by helping employees become better people professionally or personally or by collaborating with colleagues to combine strengths and drive change or by helping my management exceed their goals, etc.
3. No matter what I accomplish professionally, I will always want to be known first as a faithful and loving husband and great father.
