After passing out of the prestigious Asian College of Journalism, I was Tamil Nadu correspondent at South File, where I filed mostly political stories as the state was going through a tumultuous phase. Later, I moved to Sun TV where I gained some experience in running a live news bulletin. At the Times of India, I spend most of my time at the state desk with an occasional stint at the national and city desks. When the tsunami of December 2004, I was at The New Indian Express in Chennai where I was closely involved in the desk that covered the disaster. Later, at TNIE, I was also put in charge of the Vellore edition. (Vellore is a small town in Northern Tamil Nadu). At Deccan Chronicle, Chennai where I have been since March 2006, I am the senior most person on the desk.
A journalist never does specialise. He is the jack of all trades and master of none. So that is a dunce question, whoever wrote it.
