An award-winning freelance writer, my work appears in a variety of magazines and web sites for consumer, trade and custom audiences.
Recently I've written for consumer publications including Entrepreneur.com, Working Mother, Relish, Hobby Farm Home, Ode, Bankrate.com, Preservation, and American Heritage.
I also contribute to a number of custom publications including Hammock Publishing's American Spirit (client: Daughters of the American Revolutioni), MyBusiness (client: National Federation of Independent Business), and The Magazine Group's Higher Ed Tech (client: CDW Corporation).
My work also appears in trade publications. I contribute monthly departments to EXPO and bi-monthly departments to Credit Union Business. Other trade magazine credits include Convene, Incentives & Meetings International, Motivation Strategies, American City & County, Waste Age, Pizza Today and South Central Construction.
I write about a wide variety of topics, but specialties include small business, parenting, food, sustainability, health and travel.

A professional writer since 1997, I have worked as a writing teacher in high school and college, and as a staff writer and editor for a national association magazine. I became a full-time freelance writer in 2001 and have produced content for a variety of publications and corporations.
I'm always on the lookout for interesting, challenging opportunities in both journalism and corporate communications.

At PCMA, I served as a member of the editorial team of Convene Magazine, a national publication for professionals in the hospitality and meetings industry. My work involved participating in editorial planning, writing articles for the magazine, overseeing freelancers, managing the production of special supplements, collaborating with designers, and producing organizational communication products.
