Illustrator, Designer, and Magazine Production Specialist
Greater New York City Area
I began working in the magazine production industry in 2006 as a staffer at Bride's Magazine (Condé Nast), then freelanced at various publishing houses, and currently "perma-lance" at Vanity Fair (Condé Nast).
At this point in time I would like to add clients to my current schedule and I have a lot to bring to the table. I am detail-oriented, efficient, and can manage deadlines. My current duties at Vanity Fair are more text-driven; in the past I have focused more on layout production, template creation, etc., so I am comfortable with both aspects. I am also fully proficient as a designer/graphic artist and with my strong production skills, can create very accurate and clean layouts.
Over the years I have also gained experience as an illustrator with clients such as Barnes & Noble, Tangerine Press (Scholastic, Inc.), Monkey Doodle Dandy, and The Park Slope Reader. My website, www.nancydraws.com (designed by me), has many examples of my quirky and captivating illustrations.
Software: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, K4 & QPS Publishing systems, Freeway, Microsoft Word, Entourage, Lotus Notes.
