I spent 20+ years as a technical documentation specialist and a trainer in the software industry, doing mostly freelance work for companies as diverse as GE, 3M, RCA, CSC, NYState, and Rational Software. Technical documentation, however, is not my life's goal, so I started law school in the (phenomenal) Special Part Time Program at New England School of Law in 1999. My job circumstances dictated that I change law schools, so I finished in 2003 at Franklin Pierce Law Center, then the Number Three law school in the nation in Intellectual Property Law.

I got interested in IP law a long time ago; how I became interested in it is one of my favorite life stories.

With the caveat that attorneys in New York cannot "specialize," IP law (patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair practices, licensing/franchising), business law (formations, negotiation and contracts, business windup and closing).

  My law practice concentrates in intellectual property (including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, trade dress, unfair business practice, licensing, franchising) and business law (including business startups, business closings, business negotiations and contracts, consumer protection, fraud, identity theft, personal bankruptcy). We're located in upstate New York, about halfway between Albany and Saratoga Springs.
  
  I also design and deliver worldwide training for inexperienced inventors on the patenting process in the United States.
  
  I am admitted to practice before the New York courts, the US District Courts for the Northern District and the Southern District of New York, the US Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for the Federal Circuit, and the US Patent and Trademark Office.
