Yes I want to be a super hero. Like Superman and Clark Kent I live a dual life. I am able to seamlessly move from hands on very low level techno-geek to presenting to Cxx's and other stakeholders who are not technical. I have worked in both worlds, excelling in both. Maybe I am an enigma, maybe something else... email me and you can judge for yourself.
I have over 12 years of experience in infrastructure design and support. I am an expert in database technologies, have designed and built complex environments with 100's of servers, and touched just about every area in the datacenter. Additionally I have worked with application design teams designing some really cool, and some equally lame applications. I am considered one of the top performance experts in MySQL and am asked to frequently talk at various functions and serve on panelists of elite Open Source and Performance experts. Because I am a geek I am fluent in several languages and development environments. PHP & Perl are my strongest, but splashes of java, .net, C, C++, Ruby, and Lua take up hard drive space in my brain.
But my super hero identity also has powers to manage complex projects, budgets, vendor negotiations, and the like.
