Myshell Curry currently owns and operates Supa Sista Designs, an eco-friendly graphic design company in Los Angeles.
She is the former marketing director and development assistant at Lula Washington Dance Theatre. She was actively involved in fundraising, program development, public relations, education coordination, supervising volunteers and interns, graphic design, and dance instruction with the organization for four years.
Curry began her dance career at age 3 under the tutelage of renowned tap dancer, Alfred Desio at The Colburn School of Performing Arts, where she now teaches tap. At 14 years of age, she began teaching both tap and hip-hop at Lula Washington Dance Theatre in Los Angeles. Soon, Myshell was teaching at several schools and community centers throughout the city in addition to maintaining a 3.9 grade point average at King Drew High School of Medicine and Science.
A graduate of California State University Dominguez Hills, Myshell holds a Bachelors Degree in Africana Studies and a Minor in Theatre Performance. Two of her undergraduate years were spent studying film production at Chapman University in Orange, California, where she both led and raised funds for the African Student Union her sophomore year.
During her senior year at Dominguez, Myshell established a performing arts center called “Motiv” in Inglewood, which she solely owned and operated for two years. Her experience was not limited to administration, but included teaching, marketing, and event planning.
Myshell’s stage credits include The Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, The BET Awards, Dance Kaleidoscope, a gala for former president, William Clinton, and The Reebok Human Rights Awards. She has been featured on the small screen in UPN’s hit series, “The Parkers,” “Girlfriends,” a K-Swiss commercial, and a host of music videos. Her latest film appearances include the 2006 feature film, “Something New,” starring Sanaa Lathan and "Showstoppers."
Well versed in the entire Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photo Shop, Adobe Premiere, Microsoft Publisher, all contact databases (including ACT and Access), Adobe Page Maker, Acid Pro (Music Editing Software) and FilemakerPro. Applicant is also able to navigate both PC and Mac operating systems.
