Freelance web developer with extensive experience developing solutions using Microsoft technologies. My core skills are based around the Microsoft technology stack, and I have deep knowledge of Classic ASP, ASP.NET & C#, SQL Server, XML, Server Controls, etc.
My primary focus is developing and maintaining systems using Microsoft technologies - predominantly ASP.NET & SQL Server, but can also work with PHP and MySQL where required.
I'm also the lead developer of a digital asset management product for a client based in the UK. Built using ASP.NET, it makes extensive use of a range of features including master pages, modules, handlers, custom controls, XML, error handling and logging, etc. The database is SQL Server 2005, and uses views, triggers, stored procedures, and functions as well as some of the newer features found in 2005 such as assemblies, common table expressions and new ranking functions.
It's currently in use by several large corporations in the UK and a major US sporting organization.

Developing software solutions to help VEF retain its position as the #1 company to help people buy property in France.
Development an electronic booking system which was used internally by the sales team and also allowed clients to book appointments from the website.
This included a corresponding mobile application built with .NET CE and Web Services allowing the sales team to book appointments for clients remotely (ie. while at trade shows).
The entire system utilized various Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server 2000, Exchange Server 2000, ASP.NET (1.1), C# & VB.NET, Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Outlook (custom forms).
Created ClubVEF, a members only section of the website allowing users to register, make and view appointments, enter competitions, save searches, and obtain more information about France.
In addition to this, I was also responsible for general website maintenance, including changes, bug fixes, refactoring code, and implementing new features.

The online ticket shop is a web-based company that specializes in getting hard-to-find tickets for sold-out events.
As the lead developer, my role involved working with the web manager to design, develop and implement a new e-commerce website allowing them to sell tickets online. Previously, they were using a hosted solution from a US based company, requiring them to pay commission on all sales.
The new website was developed from scratch over four months using Microsoft technologies - Active Server Pages (ASP) for the presentation and middle-tiers, and SQL Server as the database.
In the first month after launch, it increased sales by over 300%, reduced support queries by half, and gave the company management team a much deeper insight with improved reporting, allowing them to make better business decisions.
