•Wrote various conversion and interface programs to support the interfacing and transmission of the company’s financial data across multiple platforms (Mainframe, UNIX, AIX AS/400). These programs were written in SQL, Easytrieve Plus and COBOL.
•Created numerous reports via Crystal Reports for the user community. These reports were written from Oracle tables used in the Lawson packages and home-grown applications.
•Wrote SQL stored procedures for processing and interfacing Lawson data using Oracle database tables.
•Technical lead for the Fixed Asset webpage project. This project created a webpage of current assets for the over 700 Follett stores. This also entailed writing various Crystal Reports for the stores’ review and for auditing purposes in the home office.

• Primary responsibility was the installation and implementation of the company's EDI systems. This included the installation of EDI translator software by Transettlements, and the conversion from Transettlements software to Gentran Plus software by Sterling Software.

• Responsible for the EDI interfaces (programs, EDI mappings, etc.) to and from existing applications, setting up trading partners both on VANS and within the translation software (including Connect:Mailbox), and following new trading partners and/or transactions through the testing phase and into production.

• One of two people to implement an "in house" written purchasing system. This system consisted of both batch and on line programs written in CICS and COBOL.
• As a secondary phase to this system, responsible for creating an accrual collection and invoicing module. This module was designed to keep track of rebate money due the company for deals that vendors gave to Scot Lad for purchases made from them.

Worked in the clearing section of the MIS department. The clearing section's primary responsibility was to code, maintain and enhance programs that edit, balance, match, and report on the day's transactions. These transactions were submitted to the MIS department via punched cards, diskettes, on line terminals, or magnetic tape from each of the trading firms within the exchange. Programs were coded using both COBOL and Easytrieve Plus with ICCF running on an IBM 4381 under DOS/VSE with VSAM and some ISAM files.

Also documented these programs for both the end users and the computer operations staff. Responsible for maintenance and enhancements to existing programs. I also worked with PCs using DOS, BASIC, Lotus 1 2 3, Crosstalk, Easywriter, and WordStar.
