The Incubation teams remit within the dev studio is to create prototypical concepts for new games. The concepts could be visual design, game design, game mechanics, or a mixture of any or all. Incubation projects generally run for 3 months or less and are intended to be very rapid prototypes of initial proof of concept. These proofs may then be adopted by a full development team and taken into pre-production. It is not uncommon for Incubation team members to be loaned to the dev team for an initial period.

Getfrank is an award winning digital media company based in Brighton and has worked with an extremely diverse client base (from Gorillaz to the Strategic Rail Authority). It recognised the benefit of the combination of senior developer and systems administrator skills and allowed me to continue developing both sets of skills as fully as in previous roles.

IDS’s main products are a digital hospitality (web/TV/Films/Radio) system for hotels and hospitals and a distributed in-store advertising system. As a small firm they saw the advantage in hiring someone who was both a skilled systems administrator and programmer.
Whilst maintaining email systems and remote servers I was also working on both the digital hospitality system (a team of 5) and the advertising system (a team of 3).

Victoria Real was an award winning digital media company of 100+ staff, although at the time I joined there were only around 12 of us.
I was initially employed to work on the RealTrade System – an advanced multimedia system for commerce.
The RealTrade team (initially 2 of us, later expanding to 8) also developed and deployed many advanced websites (such as Big Brother 1, a truly huge endeavour at the time).
My network and systems administration skills were greatly used and enhanced during my employment, both as part of project work and in the maintenance of the office network and systems.
