David Goodwin’s Summary

I manage a team of 4 developers in an agile and iterative development environment and am responsible for recruitment, customer interaction and technical direction of the company. Occasionally I provide technical training for PHP developers.


In terms of software development, our primary focus is around PHP based web applications, notably using the following technologies :

- Smarty,
- Propel (Object Relational Mapping framework)
- Zend framework,
- Symfony framework.
- MySQL & PostgreSQL relational databases

Other programming languages I have experience of include : Python, Perl, Shell scripting and Java.

My final 'hat' is that of being a systems administrator (LPIC 2 certified), where I use Apache, DNS, Postfix and other technologies as appropriate.


I have experience of High Availability Clustering technologies on Linux and Windows and have been responsible for installing, training and supporting a commercial HA product.

I'm LPI Certified (Level 2) and also a Zend Certified Engineer
