Alex started as an entrepreneur at the age of 14, building a profitable online business enabling music producers to sell their work to performing artists. A few years, profitable businesses, successful business plan/pitch competitions later, Alex was invited to join the GE | OMD Incubator in NYC, where he had opportunity to learn from the founders of companies like Twitter, Square, Tumblr, Foursquare, and more, while building his own mobile startup.

Alex then joined cloud music technology startup, Gobbler, as the Director of Special Projects, where he works closely with the founding team on user growth, fundraising, business development, and recruiting initiatives. He is fascinated by the interaction between people, technology, and the arts, and directs his creative energies into these areas.

GE and Omnicom’s OMD partnered to create a 10-week incubator bringing together the brightest student entrepreneurs from around the World to work in New York City for the Summer of 2012. The GE | OMD Incubator aims to create a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs can learn, thrive and build great digital products.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the GE | OMD Incubator provides a space where accepted applicants develop their ideas, learn from industry mentors and become entrenched in New York City’s startup scene. In addition, participants learn and meet with key marketing and advertising executives to help build their companies.

During the program, I worked on crafting the vision for a company, identifying the market, and breathed those elements into the actual technical design of social productivity tools.

The online music-licensing business I started at age 14. Noticed an opportunity to help independent music producers across the world sell their work to artists. Created deals and collected a percentage of each transaction.

Bootstrapped this business, and was cash flow positive within months after my fourteenth birthday.
