Oracle Database Consultant
Utrecht Area, Netherlands
Since I operated in various positions during my career, I have a broad ICT background.
This broad background comes in handy to fulfill my professional ambition: to be an Oracle/Enterprise Architect. Lately I'm concentrating more on the technical side of Oracle. Combining the experience I gained as an Oracle Developer, Trainer and PM, I'm sure I can be a good Oracle/Enterprise Architect (Yes, I can...)
My professional experience is largely technical, and the bulk of it is Oracle Database related. Oracle Applications/E-Business Suite is a different world. I've never been there. No ambition to do so either.
Various Oracle-related roles I've performed:
*Database Developer (Oracle Forms/Reports and pre-decessors like SQL*Forms, SQL*Report et al). As a developer, I've worked in teams and on my own (very small projects) on new stuff, but also performing maintenance on existing programs. Since these were part of a production system, special skills were needed.
*Oracle Trainer. I've trained developers, DBA's and end-users in groups and individual training. Also developed new Oracle courses.
*Oracle DBA.
Non-Oracle technical experience:
*the usual office productivity programs/suites
*project management software
*various operating systems: DOS/Windows/Unix/Linux/Novell. Experience usually goes further than user-level.
*network setup including cabling, installation of NIC's and hubs/switches.
*PC and server hardware. I'm not affraid to open a cabinet and stick my head in...
Non-technical skills:
*project management & team leading
*presentation techniques
*writing skills (courses & management reports)
Performance monitoring/tuning. Scan Oracle application for possible performance problems.
Setting up a database system for maintenance and systems management without performing too much clerical work.

As a Senior Oracle Database Consultant, I can operate in the following areas of expertise:
*design & setup of Oracle Database Architecture
*infrastructure advise
*advise on Oracle products (setup & implementation)
*analyse performance problems
*advise on migration projects (Oracle upgrades)
*DBA tasks
And everything in between, above and beyond...when it's called Oracle, it's me! I've never been to Delphi though.
I'm also doing ICT Architecture stuff now. As an Oracle Solution Architect or general ICT Architecture. I have a broad background in ICT systems and over the course of the past 20 years, I've developed an insight in ICT infrastructure, management and operations.
