Miguel is currently working on building solutions for telecommunications and fixed-mobile convergence. This work includes software architecture and development, program management, and standards development organizations.
He has worked with foreign principals who send offshore work to the Philippines. He has traveled for onshore work.
He has been using and programming for Linux since 1994.
He co-founded one of the first Internet Service Provider's in the Philippines, IPhil Communications. This started operating in 1994. The partners sold this to PSINet, a publicly-listed US ISP, in 2000.
In the ISP industry, he has been working on IP routing, security, operating systems, and Internet-related business solutions software.
He has moved on to the software industry. He is interested in software design and implementation, computer science and algorithms, and open source tools and libraries.
