Mouli Cohen, Ecast and Voltage Capital founder and entrepreneur, has been one of a select few to have great success in biotechnology and high technology.
Mouli got started as an investor in biotechnology with an early stake in Teva Pharmaceuticals. He continued as an investor in several successful biotech startups including Biosense, a cardiac imaging company sold to Johnson and Johnson in 1997, and Icos, a discoverer and developer of treatments for inflammation and other diseases, sold to Eli Lily in 2006.
Mouli Cohen has built and invested in several technology companies including Ecast, a leader in place-based interactive media and Trading Dynamics, a supply chain software company, sold to Ariba in 1999.
His latest venture, Voltage Capital, is a private equity innovation fund focused on opportunities in high technology, digital media, consumer products, and healthcare sectors.
The firm acts as investors and entrepreneurs, launching new ventures as well investing in existing businesses with significant growth prospects. Voltage focuses on uncovering and creating unique situations where our combined expertise can create significant value.
Voltage Capital has recruited a diverse and motivated group of world class entrepreneurs and scientists and commissioned them with the task of exploring emerging technology in order to discover, harvest and commercialize new products. Voltage’s strength is in its ability to add dimensionality beyond the flat and passive analysis of an invention or business model by actively contributing, building upon, or redirecting the seed idea.
