Webmaster and Digital Fabrication Coordinator at Knowlton School of Architecture
Columbus, Ohio Area
I enjoy doing all aspects of data mining and analysis, as well as using tools such as 3-axis CNC mills to investigate novel forms and materials; I enjoy actively trying to merge the abstract world of data with the concrete world of architecture and construction.
Writing and maintaining web applications in ASP and ColdFusion, MySQL database administration, Windows computer support; use and maintenance of digital fabrication equipment (laser cutters, 3-axis CNC mills, rapid prototyping equipment, 3D object scanners), recommendations for purchasing and budget planning

I am responsible for maintaining and developing the school's web presence, including the public-facing web resources, several specialty sub-sites, and intranet. As part of this responsibility I act as the school's database administrator. I am also the coordinator of the school's digital fabrication lab, which contains several laser cutters, 3-axis CNC mills, a rapid prototyping machine and 3D object scanner. I initiate new purchases and network with other campus organizations to establish collaboration agreements.

February 1999 — September 2005 (6 years 8 months)
I was part of a 3-person IT staff that supported student and faculty computers, printers, and other equipment. While I was on staff the size of the network grew from just over 100 computers to a final size of 350+ computers and about 20 printers. My responsibilities were to develop and maintain the school's intranet (including the problem report system and equipment inventory), maintain school-specific documentation, respond to user problems, and oversee the printing system budget. I also had input into equipment purchases and server maintenance.

I was an architectural draftsman and model builder for a studio within Karlsberger. My responsibilities were to execute red-line corrections to building drawings, offer design recommendations where possible, and to build small-scale models and full-scale room mock-ups as requested.
