I have worked in Internet related roles for over 10 years in a number of roles (public and private) and function well in both real world and virtual environments. I work closely with programmers, database and web developers, graphic designers and other related professionals.

My focus has been to provide advice and guidance to clients regarding the set up and management of sites, site accessibility and usability (advisory and hands on coding) and to advise clients how different tools/systems might be used to help them achieve their goals. I have dabbled with search engine optimisation and provided practical advice to clients on how they might improve their visibility in search engines - and/or improve ranking.

I keep up to date with evolving systems and am an enthusiastic adopter of new technologies - always interested in 'having a play' to see what's out there, how tools work and to discover how they might be used within various contexts, in particular for business, marketing and education. (I swear, even twitter has valid applications in the 'real world'. No... really! :)).

I have implemented a number of interfaces/site skins with web based applications/systems that have been written in a range of programming languages. In terms of my more technical skills I am a coder not a programmer and have no issue working with or modifying existing code as part of graphic implementations (skinning a site/system). I have worked directly with data in databases, carrying out basic queries and administrative tasks and have managed various websites and online systems.

Within all of my roles I have a strong client based focus and am able to determine client needs and make recommendations based on my own knowledge and experience as well as that of my extensive network. I approach my work with good humor and a positive attitude - an easy thing to do when you're lucky enough to work in an area that is fun and that you love.
