As a Doctor of Social Anthropology, I have experience designing and conducting qualitative contextual inquiries, interaction analyses and ethnographic field studies in North America and India. As a writer and editor for over 20 years, I have a proven record of interviewing diverse subjects, identifying new trends, managing creative teams, supervising print projects, and authoring for scholarly publications, magazines, newspapers, reports and more.
My central areas of interest and expertise are: ritual, performance and the constructions of self and community; the intersections between subcultural capital and social media; youth markets and emerging popular narratives; music, dance and play as experiences and expressions of transformation and transcendence.
