Head of Marketing at 3X Systems
Columbus, Ohio Area
Starting off inside a fairly large (especially by today's standards) software development company with a stable, strict and fairly rigid hierarchy of job roles and titles, I ended up in marketing design by a happenstance that might be apocryphal but which I remember as being true - the person who had the job I moved into had gone on vacation and decided not to return at all. As such I didn't have a lot of space or time for mistakes or failures and I found this to be my preferred environment, one I have pursued ever since.
Currently I'm the manager of all aspects of Marketing at 3x Systems, an innovative remote data backup provider (in an industry not really known for innovation, oddly enough). The position presents a number of exciting challanges and opportunities for explosive growth and success, and takes me back to my tech roots where I started off in marketing back in the mid 90's. It's amazing how much the industry has changed since then, but what's even more interesting are what similarities still remain and how many old pithy marketing quotes are even more valid today than they may have been ten, twenty, or fifty years ago.
Core Idea and brand development workshops; teaching-level expertise with Adobe Photoshop CS3; a broad understanding of practical web design and coding in HTML with CSS, PHP, mySQL; Extensive experience with Flash and Actionscript; everything you might want to know about printing payroll checks, w2 forms and envelopes, inserts, and marketing materials...
