Life/ Personal/ Executive Coach: Change, Training, Planning, Facilitation, Mediation
San Francisco Bay Area
In the beginning: BA Communication & Fine Arts (Sculptor), worked in the field of designing, fabricating, and installing custom architectural detail for Victorian restoration, Hotel lobbies, Hardscape landscape construction. Also worked on all phases of construction for 15 years as a business owner.
Construction lead me into the legal field where I received a Corporate Paralegal certificate (Attorney Assistant Training Program, AATP) from UCLA in Corporate Law. Over the course of eight years I began taking workshops on conflict resolution and mediation. I became a mediator sitting on the Los Angeles County Superior Court panel of mediators.
Subsequently I received a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration (MNA) from USF with an emphasis in Organizational Development. I worked on small business and nonprofit change initiatives as a consultant.
I am currently working on a PhD at Saybrook in Psychology and Organizational Systems. In the short-term, I am working with individuals in the "Life/ Personal/ Executive Coach" field assisting with personal and individual growth or change.
In the longer term (+5 years), I plan on writing a book on Personal Change within 3 years then traveling on book tour and giving workshops around the country.
In the far future I would like to become a mediator of international business and social disputes on the American Arbitration Association sub-panel International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).
I currently have a three-month Life/ Executive Coach program that I give which includes 3 face-to-face sessions (8 hours in the beginning, 4 in the middle, then 2 at the end), plus 10 hours of phone and/or project time, and three 3-hour workshop/ seminars. The middle session can be used to facilitate a meeting, to work out a problem with another, or to mediate an issue. See my website for details:

(Government Agency; 5001-10,000 employees; Judiciary industry)
January 1997 — October 1999 (2 years 10 months)
I mediated cases ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 primarily having to do with business disputes, but also racial discrimination, construction defect, fraud, compliance, and software patent issues. It is my experience that in 90% of the cases I heard, the initial problem (stated in the Complaint) was based on high emotion, and was mis-categorized. During the proceedings the true underlying issue emerged thereby rendering a solution much easier. This was my specialization.
(Privately Held; 201-500 employees; Law Practice industry)

I worked in the Los Angeles office supporting eight attorneys but primarily assigned to five large cases. My primary case was in the CIRCLA superfund environmental insurance subrogation SUN/Jalisco case with Lloyd's of London as our client, but also running the 20 firm defense team. I also worked on other environmental cases, and prior to working at Mendes & Mount I worked as a temp in some of the largest law firms in Los Angeles, including Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and O'Melveny & Myers. I worked on Mergers & Acquisitions and California Environmental/ Energy issues.
