Paul DeBettignies’s Summary

Power Player profile written about me in the August '06 edition of Minnesota Business, titled "Web Master".

Locally I am looking to network with technology professionals from the help desk to CIO including business analysts and project managers and the decision makers who hire them.

Nationally I am looking to speak with SAP, Oracle and Hyperion professionals who may be interested in Big 4 or regional consulting opportunities. Java and C++ developers to work on Wall Street.

MN Headhunter (www.mnheadhunter.com)
A blog written by me focusing on career information, job search tips, ideas for recruiters, and local business news. Nominated as the best Third Party Recruiting Blog on Recruiting.com in 2005 and 2006.

Technology Volunteer Network (www.mnheadhunter.com/vol)
Working with local nonprofits to find technology volunteers. Most requests are for help in building/maintaining web sites, computer networks, and databases.

Mentor/Volunteer
I enjoy volunteering with students at the University of Minnesota most of which centers around two seminars I do, job/internship search and networking. I serve as a resource and coach as they look for jobs, internships, and entrance into grad school.

Gopher The Roses (www.gopherfootballblog.com)
I am convinced that one day I will be in attendance when my Minnesota Golden Gopher football team plays in the Rose Bowl. A guy can dream, right?

Paul DeBettignies’s Experience

  • Co-Founder & Coordinator

    Minnesota Recruiters

(Non-Profit; 1-10 employees; Staffing and Recruiting industry)

    June 2007Present (1 year 2 months)

    Coming soon....

  • Managing Partner

    Nerd Search, LLC

(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Staffing and Recruiting industry)

    July 2006Present (2 years 1 month)

Taking what has been an eight year IT search career and the best of different recruiting and search firm models Nerd Search has been created.

The practice has four areas of service:

Full time permanent (contingent and retained)
    Contract/staff augmentation
Contract recruiting: access to recruiters with proven track records
Project help: job fairs, writing job ads, sorting resumes, setting interviews, background checks

Aa the name would suggest the firm focuses on search in information technology, from the Help Desk to the CIO, including Business Analysts and Project Managers.

As important is it is for the firm to generate revenue it is important for Nerd Search to give back to the community. I am exploring ways to do this including starting a nonprofit or foundation.

  • Managing Partner

    e-Strategies Group, Inc.

(Public Company; 1-10 employees; Information Services industry)

    April 1998June 2006 (8 years 3 months)

e-Strategies group was a 3rd party IT search firm working with companies of all sizes in the Twin Cities and their offices across the country for eight years.

The firm evolved during the eight years. From a small staff to me working on my own to a small confederation of recruiters. From dot com growth and Y2K to the recession of the early 2000's. I saw it all.

e-Strategies Groups was folded in the summer of 2006 as the concept of what was to become Nerd Search was finally implemented.
