Officially I'm the head of IT and a co-founder of a small IT company (about 10 people), but half of the staff do helpdesk/computer technician tasks, which I don't oversee, while the other half do programming-related activities, which I'm in charge of. At least in theory.
In practice our developers can take care of themselves (and our clients) and I am very rarely involved in what they do. I mostly take care of keeping the linux-based parts of our infrastructure working (hosting, code repository, developers' accounts and clients' virtual/physical servers) and assist employees with technical decisions, that fall outside of their usual competencies.

Currently: taking care of admin tasks in the company. Remotely managing less then 100 blades and servers and making sure the infrastructure as a whole is stable and fault-tolerant enough, that the systems running on top of it don't need extensive error-recovery modules.
Keywords: glusterfs, hadoop, ubuntu, *.deb.
Was: maintaining, developing and deploying a big, distributed, resource and bandwidth intensive system in C. Also managing one-two other developers also working on this project.
Additionally some gluecode in Python, a lot of MySQLs and a bit of PHP.
