Prior to MaxiScale, which is in "quiet mode", I worked in Google's User Experience group as a Systems Engineer/Architect and User Experience Researcher. I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and integrating them all into a project, whether it on the back-end, customer-facing, or both.
My biggest contributions at Google involved designing, building, and integrating unique new enterprise storage and media distribution services into the existing corporate network. We handled hundreds of terabytes of data each year. With my system, designed and built from the ground up using open-source software and inexpensive hardware, we are able to stream live HD footage and screen sharing from any usability lab in the world back to any Google office for observation. The system revolutionized how engineers are able to fix bugs and collaborate on new features in a globally distributed corporation with primary stakeholders throughout and saved Google hundreds of thousands of dollars.
My work as CEO of Shift Systems, a consulting start-up I co-founded, has given me an enormous amount of experience as a technical sales engineer and systems architect. We worked with a variety of medium- to large-sized organizations (i.e. law firms and major hospitals) to find infrastructure solutions that fit both their workflows and budgets.
I enjoy a career that allows me to thrive in unique and challenging environments - particularly those that are not very well-defined. I enjoy braving new territory and I want to be continuously challenged to improve. I also like to remain on the cutting-edge of new technologies and development paradigms to ensure that I am providing the best possible services and experiences for my clients. Most importantly, I enjoy having a lot of responsibility within a company - the more I have, the better I perform! I'm particularly well-suited at leveraging all available assets to accomplish a goal -- especially when it may not be possible "by the book".
