I have been involved with books, book-selling, and the Christian publishing and retailing scene for fourteen years. This has positioned me to better understand the challenges and opportunities the industry faces. Looking forward, I am excited to see what lies ahead in terms of content creation and distribution, and hope to play a role in helping Christian publishing become a leader in the digital era.
Specifics:
-Written entire business plans including pro-forma financial reporting and successfully secured financing for new store location and complete build-out.
-Successfully coordinated programming for multiple events from single store to community and industry.
-Oversaw research projects working with dozens of companies ranging in annual volume from less than $1m to greater than $250m.
-Coordinated multiple industry task forces and committees to evaluate and create strategies around specific industry initiatives related to digital content, research and industry data.
-Served on multiple industry Boards and advisory councils as well as an non-industry, non-profit board that oversaw the purchase and renovation of a 60,000 square foot abandoned hospital for the purposes of reaching out to those in spiritual, financial, or emotional need.
-Created and managed multiple budgets as well as cash-flow management and open-to-buy inventory management.
-Successfully secured multiple strategic business alliances, creating cost savings and direct benefit for clients as well as new revenue for the budget that I oversaw.
