• Began a career in technology as a student in 1999 through Concordia's work-study program gaining experience in computer repair, customer support, and troubleshooting.
• Worked directly with senior administration on implementing major technology initiatives including rebuilding and redesigning the network infrastructure from the ground up bringing in 70+ redundant routers and switches, new network security and monitoring equipment, a campus-wide Voice over IP system (600 phones), WiFi for every dorm, office and classroom, all of which increased the reliability and speed of the campus network allowing for better access to technology, information, and collaboration.
• Organized a committee consisting of senior university administrators, faculty, staff, and students to look at moving Concordia's e-mail system to a hosted solution provided by Google.
• Brought Internet2 to the campus by partnering with other Minnesota private colleges and the University of Minnesota providing for better collaboration amongst the schools involved. Future projects include disaster recovery, federated logon between the schools, and streaming video.
• Started "Innovation Mondays" modeled after the IDEO Inc. concept of discussing new and emerging technology ideas, and how to incorporate those ideas into new innovations for the university.
• Elected president of Concordia's Staff Organization, which is responsible for implementing initiatives for non-faculty employees of the university, and innovating in areas such as professional development, internal networking, service to the campus and surrounding community, and employee recognition. Responsibilities include participation in Concordia's President's Cabinet, and the university Strategic Planning Committee.
