San Francisco Bay Area
Whatever the venue, I am interested writing, riding, editing, web content development, community building, and practicing and encouraging the fine art of misadventuring in personal life, small business, and corporate environments.
My first self-published book was a guidebook to mountain biking the French Alpes-Maritimes. The next book, by the Wild Writing Women was self-published anthology and a Bay Area best seller. The title was picked up by a prestigious publishing house where it withered and died from neglect. That solidified my opinion of the mainstream publishing industry and so I formed my own small press. Sometimes I am proven wrong on this point but American Borders is doing just fine with Misadventures Media, and I am enjoying the learning curve. Now e-publishing is a priority.
Current goals are to continue to publish, experiment with podcasting, speak more to groups about solo travel, fear, and motorcycling, and finally, to continue exploring Web 2.0 in personal as well as small business and corporate environments.
My background is in journalism, technical writing, editing, webcasting, scriptwriting, and misadventuring. I've written and managed huge technical documentation projects, web development projects, online magazines, and multimedia projects using all the tools of the trade from the Adobe Creative Suite to clunky internal wikis and more.
