Thirty years as a teacher and trainer. 20 years explaining and working with the Internet. Twenty five years involvement with plain language. It is my goal to help others use information technology to engage more effectively with the world.
In 2006 I co-authored WordPress 2 Visual Quickstart Guide (with Maria Langer), and wrote Webguide: Connect Your Community. In 2007 I wrote Webguide 2: Activate Your Community.
I write articles, tutorials and books that are published online or in print. I write for websites.
I was a member of the Webstock 06 and 08 organising committee.
I was keynote speaker at the Engage your Community conference for community groups, Hamilton, New Zealand, April 2008, and again in August 2008 in Wellington, where I also presented a workshop on RSS: Keeping up with the Joneses. I am to present the keynote session at the Rotorua Engage your Community conference in late November 2008.
In December 2008 I am offering several courses about WordPress as part of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Pacific New Media Outreach program.
Passionate about allowing technology to enhance our lives. Plain language skills. Interest in valid, accessible websites. Writing regular newsletters for and on behalf of clients. Setting up mailing lists and RSS feeds.
I am willing to speak or present on certain Internet topics, and occasionally provide training at special events.
