Ming Yeow is currently hard at work on a sparkling new startup called Discoverio, which is a brand new look at enabling individuals to discover opportunities and people they never knew existed.
He was an associate at DFJ Vinacapital, a collaboration between DFJ and Vinacapital. He has founded The Digital Movement in Singapore, which organized Nexus 2007, the first major Web 2.0 and Social Media conference in the region.
Prior to these Web2.0 aspirations, he had the privilege of working with the best product management team ever when he was at Proofpoint, based in Cupertino.
Ming Yeow graduated with First Class in Computer Engineering and with a Technopreneurship Minor from National University of Singapore.
He wishes that he spent more time having fun while in school.
My Strengths:
Putting thoughts and ideas into actions.
I love working with people, and (normally) it is mutual!
Comfortable with ambiguity - I am very creative about finding possibilities of getting things done, either methods or people.
Have feedback mechanisms put in my place to ensure my random thoughts gets structured and presented.
Wide diversity of interests: psychology, data, technology, sociology, economics.
My Weakness:
The fabled "Getting the point across in 30 seconds" is tough tough tough for me, although I have been improving. Because I think as I talk!
Cannot code well, even though I aced school. Think it is my lack of sequential thinking.
Not always clear on what is the best thing to do. Normally seek conversations with a variety of people before getting clearer.
Can be a too opinionated. Need to acknowledge fallacies more. Am always trying to find examples where I am wrong!
So...
Play on my strengths, work on the lethal weaknesses, and most of all, have the right feedback mechanisms and processes around to "put the rails on". :)

Discoverio is an intelligent social platform that helps users discover people for hiring, forming groups of interest, gathering supporters for a cause, sharing ideas, etc.
Unlike current social networks and communication platforms (including Facebook, email, forums, etc), which require users to search and then communicate in very inefficient silos, the system recommends people and activities based on his personalized attention map, and has a platform for highly efficient relationship building between users.

Consulting portfolio and potential portfolio in terms of product management, business strategy, and marketing implementation. The best feeling you can get is when you help the company innovate a new strategy that they never seen before, and put in the pieces for it to work. And of course, more boring stuff like due diligence, research, etc.

We set TDM up to create a culture of sharing, enterprise, and innovation in this region, and in the meantime forming various communities centered around trends like Web 2.0, Virtual worlds, etc.
In the few months that we were founded, we built up a very strong team dedicated to the cause, and created wide network with leaders from organizations like Microsoft, Yahoo, Lenovo, Google, O’Reily, Second Life.
Our main project was Nexus 2007: Leading in Times of Disruptive Change, a 600 paid conference where we converged global thought leaders and the community of passionate professionals and entrepreneurs, complete with fun stuff like live chats , mobile social networks and attendee matching systems!
