With an accounting background, I started my career in the buying field by buying raw materials for Sundance Spa production in California. I moved on to Coast to Coast Hardware stores in Colorado buying several catagories for 5,000 franchise and corporate stores. After working for C to C for 10 years, the company was bought out and moved to Butler PA. Electing not to relocate, I tried my hand at buying parts for in the telecommunication field. Using MRP, I learned how to look at BOM's (Bill of Materials) and break these down to the lowest level of componets needed. I was promoted to senior buyer before being asked to manage their Customer Service department. After five years with Krone, Inc. and realizing my passion is buying, I joined Xanterra Parks & Resorts where I have been buying various catagories for gift shops in some of the National Parks for almost 8 years.
