Residential Remodeling, Repair and Decor
Greater Los Angeles Area
I was raised around construction contractors, having family members owning businesses in almost every trade of construction. Excavation, electrical, plumbing, framing, etc. My “duties” as a young girl were to hand my dad the right tool when he asked for it.
I learned to have the tool ready before he asked for it.
I worked alongside him for many a project, including building a TV that sat in the wall and had cool doors that closed in front of it. My job was to locate the correctly color-coded transistors. We built stone walls around the property, and stud walls in the basement. We ran electrical, hung drywall and painted.
Just about the time I was entering the workforce, personal computers were becoming a commonplace office tool. It seemed I had a knack for geek speak and I fell into the world of IT. I used them, trained others on them, fixed them.
I swore at them.
I spent my days with computers where I made my bread and butter, but I spent my weekends repairing, remodeling, rebuilding; my home or friends’ homes. Eventually IT and me parted ways. After 20+ years working with computers, I was ready to let computers work for me.

Long rides in my convertible where it's all about the journey not the destination., Eating a good meal at any anti-franchise restaurant., Listening to live acoustic musicians anywhere they have a decent sound system., Sipping pots of tea with like minded tea drinkers., Reading a well written book. Or one that's at least entertaining., Reading the Sunday New York Times from cover to cover. Or whatever constitutes cover to cover on the web., Downloading an eclectic assortment of podcasts in an attempt to "stay current"., Writing about every day life from my perspective.
