Mike Sommers’s Summary

In April 2007 I joined KickApps as SVP, Products. We are a platform that allows any publisher to seamlessly integrate social networking and user generated content experiences into their site.

I have been building consumer internet products since 1995. The 7 years prior to joining KickApps were spent at AOL in various product leadership roles, most recently as VP, Products in AOL Search. I had key roles on many other products while at AOL, including Local (digitalcity.com), Video (videosearch.aol.com) Instant Greetings, Podcast Search, AOL Alerts & Reminders, AOL Toolbar, You've Got Pictures, and a few others.

Prior to that I worked at various internet agencies and publishing companies in New York City including Blue Marble, Channell Communications, Hearst New Media, and Prodigy. Through the years several of my products have been recognized by my peers as innovative and useful. I am most proud of the Webby awards that the Singingfish team won in 2006 for "Best Web Services" and "People's Voice Award."

My professional goal is to create the ultimate product. Hopefully more than once.
