Dr. Michael M. Reinold, PT, DPT, SCS, ATC, CSCS is considered a leader in the field of sports medicine & orthopedic rehabilitation. As a physical therapist, athletic trainer, & certified strength & conditioning specialist, Michael specializes in all aspects of care of shoulder, elbow, & knee disorders. He has worked extensively with a variety of professional athletes with emphasis on the care of the overhead athlete. In addition to his clinical work, he has made significant academic contributions in the form of laboratory research, biomechanical research, & clinical outcome studies.
Michael has published over 50 journal articles & book chapters in publications such as AJSM & JOSPT. Michael is on the review boards of 4 journals and recently guest edited a special issue of JOSPT on articular cartilage & meniscal lesions of the knee. He was also an associate editor of Sports Medicine and Performance Magazine. He has also edited several books including The Athlete's Shoulder, 2nd Edition. Michael has been featured in several local and national publications such as Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, Men's Health Magazine, Fast Company Magazine, The Boston Globe, & The Boston Herald.
Michael is also actively speaking at various seminars & national meetings including past presentations at the annual APTA, NATA, & ACSM conferences and an invited lecture at Harvard University. Michael has served as a rehabilitation consultant for several companies such as Genzyme Biosurgery & Empi.
Michael is active in his professional societies including the American Physical Therapy Association, National Athletic Trainers Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society, ICCUS Society, & the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society.
