Mike Nuzzo’s Summary

I love the game of golf: Watching the ball bounce with abandon or hitting it far, being at some of the beautiful places in the world, remembering times playing when I was young with my dad, playing with my friends and post round beers, the sounds of the golf clubs rattling in the back of my car, cool dusk evenings, walking the course, smells of the grass and sweeping the dew in the morning, peace and quite and great calm, Scotland.

My goals as a Golf Course Architect are to create enjoyable courses that inspire people to play. Here are some images from my recent project, Wolf Point Club: http://www.mnuzzo.com/wpc/album2

Design, construction and maintenance must work collaboratively for the project to turn out as good as possible which should include economic sustainability. Construction and maintenance costs can be way too high otherwise - and usually are.

The 2 most important parts of designing a golf course are starting and finishing. Starting is the routing plan - the bones of a golf course and finishing means managing every detail of the course through completion - even the perimeter or outside of the property.

Communicating clearly with the team, especially the shapers, through both plans and the spoken word is a process that takes extreme skill and patience - it is a very detailed vision that needs to be translated into the ground. Providing guidelines that enable adaptation in the field, thus giving the crew the autonomy for improvements, translates directly to very memorable golf.

Please give me a call to answer any questions.

Cheers
