Joined KPMG (1/2007) as a Manager of Recruiting for our Midwest Area Advisory Services practice. Our Midwest area consists of: Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Des Moines, Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Omaha and St. Louis. Assumed Lead Advisory recruiting role for the Midwest in 10/2007.

The primary reason that I joined KPMG is that we have an excellent value proposition for our employees, not only career-wise, but also with an emphasis on professional growth, work/life balance, corporate responsibility and diversity. We have projected 75% growth for our Midwest area by 2010 which is creating many excellent opportunities at all levels. BS, Mathematics & Meteorology, 1969 — 1973
Initially interested in Meteorology but soon realized that I would prefer a career in software development after completing some programming courses. The only problem was that there was no CS major at the time - everything was in the Mathematics department. So I added a Mathematics major along with a minor in Computer Science. Ended up double-majoring in Mathematics and Meteorology and completed the program in four years.
Was one of those "semi-commuter" students that NIU was famous for back then in the sense that I attended class during the week and would come home on the weekends to make a few bucks.
Totally financed NIU myself between scholarships and my own $$.
